  • It’s mission to promote mental health for all through improving access to programming, education and awareness, advocacy and integration, while supporting individuals on their journey in recovery from mental illness.
  • Assisting our staff in supporting individuals to find their way through the complex and multifaceted mental health and community support system; thereby strengthening our efforts in finding resources that promote resilience and aid in the journey of recovery.
  • Building capacity and understanding within our community, through education and awareness around mental illness and mental health concerns. Presentations and training are offered to educational institutions, businesses, and community organizations etc.

Volunteer

We are always searching for skilled and enthusiastic volunteers! Our volunteers play a crucial role in our organization and our community. We truly appreciate the dedication and initiative of those who unselfishly contribute their time and energy to further our mission.

Our volunteers generally assist in the drop-in center. They often interact with our clients by working one-on-one or in small group settings within our drop-in center. Their role is to engage individuals in social-recreational or social skills-building activities or to have conversations with individuals who may be difficult to engage with. Volunteers may help facilitate structured activities and encourage participation or they may develop casual activities that are of specific interest to clients. Sometimes volunteers present educational information, assist with fundraising or agency projects, etc. (but they are not to do counselling). Our drop-in center can get busy; sometimes 40-50 clients are here at one time. We have very limited staff and volunteers would never be asked to work alone. We truly appreciate our volunteers as they contribute in many tremendous ways which help enhance our ability to meet our clients’ needs.

If you are interested in volunteering in the drop-in center (member’s club), you may set up an initial meeting with Sue Beug suebeug@cmharegina.com.

If you would like to volunteer to help with fundraising initiatives, please contact Shannon Patton shannonpatton@cmharegina.com.
